As parents look for better ways to raise secure and loving children, many are turning to Attachment Parenting to meet the needs of their children. Attachment Parenting emphasizes physical closeness between parent and child as a way to encourage positive bonding.  Attachment Parenting is a style of parenting that fulfills a baby’s need for trust, empathy and affection.  Attachment Parenting methods include: preparing for childbirth, responding sensitively to your baby’s cues, breastfeeding, and wearing your baby.  One important thing to note is that Attachment Parenting is not a checklist but a set of tools that parents can use to create a strong emotional bond between parent and child.   For more information about Attachment Parenting please click on the link to the left:  What is AP?

East Valley API is an affiliate of Attachment Parenting International (API) that is focused on the East Valley area including, but not limited to, the cities of Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Gold Canyon, Mesa, and Tempe.  EVAPI provides emotional, educational, and practical support to parents who practice Attachment-style Parenting or who wish to learn more about this style of parenting. 

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am at Trinity Christian Fellowship in Chandler.  Trinity Christian Fellowship is located at 50 S. McQueen Road in Chandler, 1/4 mile south of Chandler Boulevard on the West side of the street.  East Valley API is a non-sectarian organization and thanks Trinity Christian Fellowship for the donation of their meeting space.

Attachment Parenting International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit member organization, networking with parents, professionals and like-minded organizations around the world.  In addition to providing assistance in forming Attachment Parenting support groups like those in the Phoenix area, API provides educational materials, research information, consultative, referral and speaker services to promote the concepts of Attachment Parenting.
